Cat Quotes:

The cat could very well be man's best friend, but would never stoop to admitting it!

What are Savannah Cats?

The Savannah is a relatively new breed of cat created by crossing an African Serval Cat with a domestic cat. The remarkable results are stunningly beautiful “wild looking” large cats with docile and domestic temperaments. Savannah Cats were accepted for registration in the International Cat Association in February of 2001. This breed is really in its infancy of development and is still somewhat rare, which accounts for their high prices.

The African Serval is a medium sized wild spotted cat found in Sub-Saharan Africa. Servals inhabit the grassy Savannahs and prey on small rodents, birds and other animals.

Servals are twenty to fifty pounds at maturity and average twenty inches at the shoulder. They have black spotted markings on a golden to dark tan background, with tall ears set on top of their head. Their head is small and their face is delicate and sweet looking. They have long legs and a moderately short ringed tail. These physical traits are passed on to the most beautiful Savannahs, making them strikingly unusual looking.

Savannahs make excellent pets, intelligent, curious, alert and friendly. If you want a great house pet with the “look of the wild”, then you may want to look into getting a Savannah.
